Head Power:

10 Things

I’ve Learned

Along The Way…

by Bonita Bennett

Measure The Actions Of Others Accordingly: I have a friend who is so stingy, it boggles my mind.  However, when I focus on the good she brings into my life, it shines over her bad and I’m able to value her presence in my world.  So it is with others.  You can change no one but yourself.  You either move out or fit it in.

People Skills:  When dealing with others, understanding  is an important part of the encounter.  It’s an art that includes listening well without the distraction of one’s own insecurities, ego, needs or opinions.  Understanding leads you past the surface to the inside where the truth lies.  This knowledge helps you to accept and forgive.

Speak It!  If something truly bothers you, you should not sit on it and allow it to fester into a burden of resentment. You should either confront it  or release it and be prepared to “let the chips fall where they may,” even if it means losing something of perceived value.

Revelation:  There can be immeasurable power and resolution in the use of silence as a communications tool.

Pay Attention:  Be on guard and pay attention as you walk through the corridors of life.  Evil can lurk behind the sweetest  smile, the kindest words and the warmest gestures.

Leave The Past Behind.  Whatever happens today that I consider less than memorable, I let it go at midnight.  I greet each day as a new beginning with anticipation for new joy and peace.

Revelation:  God operates beyond perception and faith has great reward.

Observation:  Behind many beautiful faces lies the pain of loneliness.

Stay Up!  When your world goes topsy-turvy,  just hold on, because regardless of how bad it looks at the moment,  a situation or thing can be totally reversed for good by the next day.  A lot really can change in 24 hours.   Believe it and watch for it!

Don’t Sleep During The Day:  Stay Alert!  Sometimes, it can really cost you if you allow your “walls” to be infiltrated by what looks good on the outside only. The enemy can ease into your camp disguised as a friend or lover in a most spectacular way.  Remember, hurt can only come from someone inside your gates, and only you have the key to the doors.
