Spread the love

Q.  I recently accepted an engagement ring from a man and I’m truly in love with his best friend, who is engaged to another woman. He and I and I “slipped up and out” once.  But since then, he won’t even look at me.  I’m perplexed.  I want to be married, and I’m afraid to blow this opportunity to be with a good man who is financially attractive.  But I don’t love him, and all my friends are advising me to marry now and fall in love later.  What do you say?

A.  I say you should let that nice guy off the hook and return his engagement ring.  With marriage, it’s usually the other way around.  You fall in love and then get married.

Q.  I’m getting ready for a wedding, and I have a dilemma. I have two best friends, and I can only choose one maid of honor.  I know if I choose one, the other one would be deeply hurt.  Frankly, I do prefer one over the other, because she’s my closest confidante.  What can I do?

A.  If you have a sister, choose her instead and no one will be angry.  If not, choose both.  Weddings are no longer traditional…you can do whatever you want.
