Cathy met Tony at a health conference in another city, and they both were surprised to learn they were from the same town.  She was immediately impressed because he was a doctor, good-looking, and charming, and seemed equally enchanted with her.  They clicked and spent the whole weekend together.  Cathy hoped it was a fling and looked forward to seeing him again.

When they returned home, he called and invited her over for a small party with friends, and she leaped for the chance to “rekindle the magic.”

When she arrived at his home, she knocked on the door, but no one answered.  She knocked again, but louder.  Still, no one answered.  As she turned to leave, he suddenly opened the door with an irritated expression on his face.  “You got a big knock for a little woman.  You knock like the police.”

She laughed at what she thought was his sense of humor, and headed back toward the door.

“By the way, I don’t like women in pants, but I’ve got something you can change into.”

Cathy stopped and stared at him to gauge the seriousness of his statement.

“Are you serious?” she asked, with a frown on her face.

“I am,” he replied, looking her dead in the eyes.  “Pants are for men.”

Cathy looked at him, and began laughing.  “You’re right, they are.  In fact, if you’d like, I have a change of clothes in the car.  I’ll be back in a minute.”  She walked to her car, got in  and drove off without looking back.  She knew a mismatch when she saw one and she wasn’t about to waste her time.
