Mad Moments

Tammy: “My last dating “encounter” tried to seduce my best friend, borrowed my car for “an hour” and kept it for three days, and stood me up at the airport when we were on our way to a weekend getaway to the Bahamas.”

Kara: “I always seem to choose the guy who is drama from day one, but I keep on trying to prove to myself that I can get him to act right regardless of his resistance. Because of this attitude, I have suffered two nervous breakdowns because I was stood up at the altar by two different men.”

Mya:  “For too long, I dated a guy who borrowed money on the first date to pay for the meal, confessed to being married but separated by the fourth date, and had gone back to his wife by the eighth date.  Then I got hooked by a handsome slick who accompanied me on a company cruise to the Mediterranean (all expenses paid), and dumped me upon our return.”

Carl: “This is why men feel they have to lie in relationships. Like me, most guys would like to tell the truth in relationships, but it’s a hard thing to do.  I met a woman who I told upfront that I was not monogamous. (She claimed she favored men who were honest.) She was cool until she saw me out with another woman, and became enraged. She confronted us, screamed uncontrollably, and then went home and slit her wrists. Fortunately, she lived. After that incident, I went back to lying.”

Jamal: “Two years ago, I was involved with two women and decided to marry one.  Both women wanted to get married, so I was in a pickle. They didn’t know about each other, but I felt obligated to break the news truthfully to the one who didn’t get chosen. My brother, however, warned me not to say I was getting married, but I did anyway and I paid the price. I invited her to dinner at our favorite place and she wrecked the restaurant in a fit of anger and had to be arrested. The next day, when I was leaving work, I was accosted by her two brothers who threatened me with bodily harm, if I married someone else.   I got married…but we eloped to Vegas.”
