The Date You

Don’t Forget…

Shera: “Four years ago, I was out on a 3rd date with a man who had swept me off my feet on the first date, which by the way was a blind date. Over dinner, he asked me to marry him and after I figured out he was serious, I said yes! Talk about spontaneous…four weeks later we were married in Hawaii with four of my closest friends in attendance.”

Leslie:  “I was out on a first date with a guy who discovered that he had left his wallet at home when the bill came.  He seemed embarrassed, but I was suspicious.  The bill was $200.00 because he had ordered some expensive champagne, but I sucked in my disappointment and paid the bill.  The next day he showed up at my job with a dozen roses and gave me an envelope with $400.00 in cash and a note that read, ‘Double For Your Trouble.’ He said I deserved it for the way I handled myself.”

Jada:  “I went to the movies once with a blind date who got up after we had been seated a half hour to go to the concession stand and never returned. Talk about feeling rejected, I have never in my life felt as ugly and discarded as I did that night.  I was so disgusted that I walked 21 blocks home in the rain in tears.”

Camille:  “I used to play tennis with the most beautiful male figure I’ve ever seen, and when he asked me out, he wrote me a note because he’s a deaf-mute.  He couldn’t talk or hear, but every woman at the club wanted to go out with him.  We went to dinner, and with him writing me notes, teaching me to sign language, and looking at me like I was the most beautiful woman in the world, I was ready to propose.  Unfortunately, he never asked me out again, and I often wonder why.  I didn’t feel rejected.  I feel deprived.”

Kiera:  “A guy I met on a double-blind date who initially appealed to me physically ended up being a jerk. It was obvious the feeling wasn’t mutual. because he never looked at me. It was very uncomfortable at the table in the restaurant because my friend and her date were hitting it off well. After ten minutes of distracted chit-chat, his phone rang and he left the table to answer it. He came back five minutes later saying he had an emergency and had to leave.”
