SingleScenes

by Sarah Smart
Q. My sister is paranoid and quick to accuse others of being jealous of her. She is also madly in love with a jerk who has offered me money to sleep with him. Every time my sister’s back is turned, he makes some obscene remark to me about his sexual skill. When she came home recently with an engagement ring, I was sick to my stomach. How can I tell her and make her believe me? She’s not easy to persuade when her mind is set on what she wants.
A. Use your cell phone and record him the next time he propositions you. Whatever evidence you record, simply play it for her, and let her decide if this is the guy she wants to marry.
Q. I have been dating a man intensely for a month and I’m crazy about him. The problem is that I have two children, and he doesn’t know. I decided to keep it a secret, after he stated emphatically that he doesn’t date women with children. I’m so ashamed, but I can’t help myself. What should I do?
A. Tell him the truth and tell him why you lied. Maybe…if he feels the same way about you, he’ll forget about what he said. Meanwhile, do I need to say that you should never deny your children for the affections of a man? Duh!
