The Secret To
Long Beautiful Hair

           I get compliments all the time on my hair and skin.  My hair is currently just past my shoulder blades and my skin actually glows, even without makeup.  What’s my secret?   The vitamins Folic Acid and Grapeseed.  These vitamins have produced incredible results since I began taking them over a year ago.

            Though I’m religious about also taking a multi-vitamin, daily, (I take GNC’s Women’s Ultra Mega) I supplement those vitamins each day with 60 mg. of Grapeseed, and an additional 400 mg. of Folic Acid, which brings the total to 800 mg. a day.

            Since I began taking a large dosage of folic acid, my hair has grown from nape length to what I call “blade length” in less than nine months.  The miracle is in the folic acid.  Before I discovered this miracle vitamin, I had been having a lot of problems with my hair.

           A couple of years ago, I allowed my hairdresser to glue some hair onto my scalp, because I wanted to add some volume to my hair.  I was thrilled at the outcome.  The look was real and gorgeous.  I felt transformed because my hair had begun to thin.

            However, I got so carried away with the look that I kept it in too long.  When I finally took it out, I had bald spots everywhere.  I was devastated.  But I found some solace in the fact that I could wear a wig to hide my disfigurement.

            Then I went to a party one night after I had been in the wig for two months and met a woman whose hair was waist length and it wasn’t a weave.  Her skin was also flawless.  At the party, she was surrounded by women who were admiring her hair and I quickly joined the crowd.  She told us that her secret to long hair was folic acid, and she used grapeseed for her skin, and that she had been using these vitamins for over five years.

            At the time, I wasn’t taking vitamins of any kind, but I went out the next day and purchased multi-vitamins, folic acid and grapeseed capsules.  Here is why they work.

What is folic acid?

            As a woman, you need folic acid every day, for the healthy new cells your body makes daily.  Think about your skin, hair, and nails.  These and other parts of your body-make new cells each day.

            You might think that you get all the folic acid and other vitamins you need from the food you eat each day.  But it is hard to eat a diet that has all the nutrients you need every day.  Even with careful planning, you might not get all the vitamins you need from your diet alone.  That’s why it’s important to take a vitamin with folic acid every day.

            Research alone shows that folic acid will keep you younger longer because it slows down age-related hearing loss and lowers the risks of stroke and Alzheimer’s.  But studies show that most women don’t get enough.  Before you take 800 mg of folic acid, be sure to ask your doctor.  Note:  Folic acid also reduces the risk of pancreatic cancer, the fourth greatest cause of cancer deaths in the U.S.

What is Grapeseed?

            Grapeseed contains flavonoids, which provide the body with 50 times more antioxidant protection than either vitamin C or vitamin E.
