Moves For The Better
by Jan Pitts
- Spend Smart: Don’t spend ridiculous amounts of money because of the designer label. Remember, no one can see the label but you.
- Reach: Extend a smile to a stranger. It means a lot.
- Restrain: Don’t socialize regularly with people who reflect an image or value system different than your own.
- Skid To A Stop: In relationships, don’t go along for the ride and then complain all while you’re riding.
- Button Up: Don’t tell anyone something that you really didn’t want them to know. If you can’t think of an answer to a question you don’t want to answer, ignore the question.
- Firm Up: Don’t cry or fret more than once over the same man/woman.
- Restrain: Don’t spend money you don’t have, for a lifestyle you don’t have, to impress people who don’t care.
- Be selective: Only give your trust to one who has proven to be trustworthy.
- Spend Smart: Use only one credit card and pay attention to the interest rate.
- Brave up: Never tolerate disrespect or put yourself in a position to experience it.
- For Inspiration: Read your Bible daily. It’s a blueprint for life
- Pump up your Standards: Don’t “exist” in another relationship where you don’t feel loved, valued or protected.
- Forget what needs to be forgotten: If need be, mend a friendship fence in need of repair.
- Reach: Give more love and accept less drama.
- Focus: Use your time as if you thought the end was near.
- Spend Smart: Invest your money.
- Embrace humility: Learn to apologize, when feelings are hurt, whether you were right or wrong.
- Brave up: Replace fear with courage, ambivalence with love, ignorance with common sense, and strains of sadness with laughter.
- Tune in: Trust your instincts. Don’t second-guess yourself. If it doesn’t feel right…don’t do it.
- Be assertive: Ask for what you want and expect to get it.
- Focus: Don’t compare yourself with others.
- Embrace discipline: Make your body a top priority.
- Act: Eliminate and fix all that isn’t comfortable in your life.
