by Cheryl Lakes
Pat was sitting outside her client’s office waiting to see him when he walked out with an extremely attractive guy. They were introduced and 1exchangebusiness cards at the urging of her client. He called the next day and invited her to dinner. It was the beginning of what she still calls “a wonderful dating adventure.”
Anne had to go to the police station to get a police report for the insurance company after a guy ran into the back of her car three blocks from her home. She looked at the sergeant sitting behind the desk and he looked at her and it was love at first sight. They began dating and were married a year later.
Stan was down in the laundry room of the apartment building he lived in. He was in old shorts and a torn T-shirt, but when he and a pretty neighbor got to talking, she took him…old shorts and all. They had both lived in the same building for two years and had never seen each other. They finished their laundry and ended up sharing pizza and wine amid the washers and dryers and hooking up the next day for a real date.
Lisa was standing in a long supermarket line when the guy behind her struck up a conversation about the headlines on the front of one of the popular tabloids. He walked her to her car and they met for lunch two days later. They got engaged last year in Bermuda.
Joe was jogging and met his wife when he stopped to drink at a water fountain in the park…Stephanie met her future husband at a ski resort in Colorado where he was an instructor…Michael struck up a conversation with a “beautiful stranger” he sat next to on the commuter train and became so engrossed, that he missed his stop. Two weeks later, their first date was at an event at her church. Four months later, they were engaged…Paula fell in love with her new foot doctor…
Toni married the vacuum cleaner salesman after he offered her a 50% discount…Tom was leaving a funeral and accidentally bumped into a woman’s car who he married two years later…Gordon was writing a parking ticket on her car when she walked up and protested. That was two years ago and they’re still dating…Scott was the principal Cheryl had to talk to when her son got in trouble…they got married three years later…Susan was taking swimming classes at the YMCA and ended up marrying the instructor…Jill was in an auto accident, and ended up marrying one of the firemen who pried her out of the car…Note: Is it odd that no one met at a party…Wonder what that means?
