10 Ways To
Summer Fun
by M.K. Allison
The Big Ride: If you don’t already own a convertible, rent one for a weekend and drive around the city or through the countryside with a friend or a group of friends. There is nothing like a ride in a convertible car on a warm summer evening.
Rent A Cabin: Visit the countryside for a weekend and invite several friends to join you for swimming, bicycling, hiking, or picnicking. Make sure it’s on a lake. Renting a cabin is not an expensive thing and it’s a unique place to have a party outdoors with a bunch of friends. Buy or rent a tent and pitch camp with a few friends in a local park on a weekend or up in the country. Play a game of softball or volleyball.
Dining Alfresco: Enjoy outdoor dining at a restaurant located on the water. Great way to enjoy a summer evening with or without a dining partner.
Spectator Sports: Go to the racetrack and enjoy the thrill of watching a thoroughbred horse race or watch a baseball game with your local team.
Plan A Picnic: Organize a picnic at the local beach for four or more friends after dark. Be sure to walk barefooot in the grass.
Sailing: Most cities have places where you can go sightseeing on a tour boat.
Bike Riding: Go bike riding with friends on a hot summer night in the downtown area of your city. Take some snacks and a bottle of your favorite wine to share on one of the many benches erected for you to take a rest.
Beach Bathing: On a hot summer day, wade out in the water at your local beach or go swimming and experience the feeling of reckless abandon.
Amusement Park: Aim for the roller-coaster experience.
Speed Boat Riding: Go for a ride on a speedboat and experience pure exhilaration.
