Bride Confessions:
The Worst Wedding Advice Ever!

Cozette: “I married a man I didn’t love because my mother insisted that it was smarter to marry a man who would be a good provider than to marry for love.  I lived to regret it because, without love, the marriage was unbearable and lasted a year.”

Charisse: “My boyfriend of five years had not proposed and I was getting tired of waiting.  We lived together and my mother talked me into proposing to him.  So, I bought a ring, a gold band, and got down on my knee and asked him to marry me.  He told me he would think about it, because we had a good thing going the way things were, and he didn’t want to mess that up with a formal commitment.  He moved out two days later.”

Dina: “I married a guy, though he denied it, who was still obviously in love with another woman. His father convinced me that my love for him would conquer his unrequited love for another.  It never did and I went through three years of hell trying to sway his feelings toward me, while he cheated on me with her.”

Maleah: “Two weeks before I was to marry, I met another man who made quite an impression. There was no question in my mind that it was love at first sight and that I could not go through with the wedding.  My mother advised me to take a vacation (to go away and think) and to tell my fiancé that I had changed my mind about marriage because I no longer felt  I was ready.  My sister, on the other hand, badgered me to tell my fiancé the truth.  But when I told my fiancé the truth, he hit me in the head with his fist, which required twelve stitches.  I ended up alone, and the object of my new affection fell for my sister instead.”
