Those Unforgettable
Blind Dates
Ever Had One?
Tom: “I was out on a blind date with a woman in a restaurant when she spotted her ex-boyfriend entering with another woman. She got up and confronted him with a slap in the face. They began fighting and the police were called. I got up, paid the bill, and left. I was grateful that we’d only ordered drinks.”
Keira: “I was on a blind date with a gorgeous man who swept me off my feet. After we left the restaurant, he took me to the boutique next door and told me to pick out a dress and a pair of shoes. He claimed it was his way of thanking me for a lovely date. That was four years ago, and we’re still together.”
Anthony – “I went to the movies once with a blind date and I thought we liked each other until she got up to get “a coke” and never came back.”
Marisa: “At the end of a blind date with a very impressive guy, I broke the cardinal rule and asked him when I’d see him again. He mumbled a faint, “I’ll call you,” got in his car, and drove off. I never heard from him and I vowed never to ask that question again. My only regret was that I had picked up the bill at dinner in an effort to impress him.”
Briana: “The only blind date I’ve ever been on lasted over ten hours. We went on a hayride in the country, picked apples, played catch, and chased each other through a field of corn stalks. At the end of the evening, he asked me to marry him and I accepted. A week later, he gave me an engagement ring.”
Jeff: “I was on a blind date with a very pretty woman who called me by another man’s name twice, flirted with the waiter, answered her cell phone every time it rang and chatted with the callers like I wasn’t there. She also ordered two entrées for dinner, one to eat there and one to take home to eat later. After she finished eating, she looked at me with a frown and stated she didn’t like men who wore glasses, and that I’d have to get some contacts if I wanted to date her. I excused myself to go to the men’s room and left her there.”
Christina: “I met a guy on a blind date, who suddenly became “ill” after thirty minutes of distracting chit chat. He was so sick he had to leave. I never heard from him again, but I didn’t care. I didn’t like him either, and if I’d thought of it, I would’ve gotten “sick” first.”
