Busted!

Mark had a dilemma.  He had promised his girlfriend Sandy that he would take her away for the weekend, but he had just received an impromptu invitation to a party, where all the who’s who would be in attendance, and he wanted to go…alone.

He didn’t want to take Sandy because he knew there would be loads of beautiful women there, and he didn’t want to be tied down all night to one woman.  As he stood looking out the window, he contemplated his next move.  He knew he had to come up with a good story to postpone their trip until the next day, but he couldn’t think of one.  He decided to tell her he was catching a cold and wanted to rest so they could leave the next day.

After he hung up the phone, he felt bad about the sound of disappointment in her voice.  But he soon became excited about the party and its possibilities.  He was brushing off his tuxedo, when his phone rang…but he had already planned to tell Sandy, he was sound asleep and didn’t hear it.

However, his plan backfired an hour later, when he walked out to get into his car, and Sandy pulled up in the driveway.  When she saw him all dressed up and on his way out, she threw a bag in his yard and drove off in a huff.  Mark picked up the bag and was shocked to see it was filled with juice, aspirin and soup.  In disgust, he went back into his apartment and went to bed.
