It was 6:00 o’clock on a hot Friday night and Val had just gotten off from work.  She decided to stop by the supermarket to pick up a few items for dinner.  When she entered the store, she heard live jazz music and saw a large crowd gathered around a group of musicians near the fruit stand.  She was delighted, because it was a pleasant distraction from her thoughts.  All day, she had been dreading going home to an empty apartment, and bemoaning the fact that she hadn’t been out on a date in almost two years.

As she stood enjoying the music, a hand suddenly touched her shoulder from behind and she was startled when she turned and saw the same gorgeous man she had been in a meeting with five hours earlier.

She and her boss had met with three prospective clients, and he had been one of them.  He had been so striking when he walked in the room, that she had almost flubbed her presentation at the sight of him.

She had also imagined that during the course of the meeting, he winked at her a couple times.  But when the meeting ended, he didn’t look in her direction when he headed hastily toward the door.

Now, he stood behind her with a wide grin on his face, and her heart leaped wildly, as he strained to be heard over the loud music.  “How about joining me for a drink over at the juice bar, I have some questions about your presentation earlier,” he asked with a flirtatious smile.  “Sure,” she replied.  “I’d love to.”  Three hours later, they were still sitting in the supermarket grinning at each other in conversation that had ended in business hours before. When he suggested they go somewhere for dinner, Val readily agreed.  The next day, he invited to go to an amusement park, and after that they became inseparable. Four months later, they got married on a beach in Aruba.
